Day 17

A bit of a to-do in the house today. Captain Hook was off the nest and Lucy and John went in to lay. They decided to take the eggs over to their side so I chucked them out. they weren't happy and got pretty bolshie with me. Captain started getting antsy so I put her in and lucy got in past me. Captain started to sit down and Lucy tried to take some eggs out from under her! Lucy is top dog around here and I didnt want to leave her in there so put Lucy out and shut Captain in. I was worried the eggs would get broken with all the back and forth but luckily they didnt. Lucy spent the next 3 hours trying to get in, through the little windows, what ever she could think of. She was sort of pleading with me but I had to break the habit incase she fancies taking the chicks when they come. I set her up a cat cage next to the house with some hay in it but she wasnt impressed. When I checked later she had laid in there but only as a last resort. Not long to sort these things out now!
